About the Author

I am L.M. Hopson, who after a forty year career in the mental health field, retired and discovered a passion for writing fiction. Having always loved a good story, it seemed a logical choice.

I have lived in six southern states, not counting my four years of college in Georgia, and my roots are deeply planted in the red clay, but though I’ve never lived in Virginia, I developed a love of the Virginia’s Blue Ridge when my daughter moved into the Shenandoah Valley a dozen years ago. There is something very stirring about those mountains that inspires my imagination as well as my interest in our nation’s history. It has been reassuring to know, though I am now old, I still have the capacity to learn and create. 🙂

I have two precious daughters and six growing grandchildren, and this summer celebrated a 50th wedding anniversary with the whole dozen of us at Gulf Shores, AL. I am very blessed!

The Lord has blessed me and those I love, and I am eternally grateful, but my stories are full of trouble and grief, reflecting the reality that life is fraught with the ravages of a broken world. There are no simple solutions or fairytale endings here which is why I cannot write stories that portend that expectation – only the expectation that the Lord is committed to His people, no matter the hard circumstances, and will one day right all wrongs and bring us safely home.
